At 8 am you leave our family guest house by foot for the Red River. After a short walk you reach what is popularly called 'Banana Island'. That is not without reason because the walk continues along narrow paths surrounded by banana plants. But besides that, you will see - depending on the season - corn, tomatoes and morning glory, among other things. After you have crossed the island you reach the more than a kilometer wide river. If you wish, you can take a refreshing swim here. Then you'll reach the famous Long Bien Bridge. Famous because it was designed by Gustave Eiffel. Via this bridge you walk to Hanoi's Old Quarter where you will be introduced to local culinary specialties during a food tour. Afterwards you will visit a performance in the famous Water Puppet Theatre. You can then choose to stay in the Old Quarter or walk back to our guest house via Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum.
You travel by car to Mai Chau, where you'll spend the night in a traditional stilt house with the Tay minority.
After a four-hour drive, you will arrive in Ninh Binh, famous for Tam Coc, also known as 'Halong Bay in the rice fields'. You will take a rowing boat trip through a beautiful landscape, surrounded by rice fields and karst mountains. You will spend the night in one of the best resorts in town.
After breakfast you will travel to Halong Bay in approximately three and a half hours. Along the way you have the opportunity to stop for a drink. Around noon you will board a traditional junk and visit Titop Beach and Sung Sot Cave. You will have a cooking class and learn how to make nem (Vietnamese spring rolls). After dinner there is an opportunity to fish for squid. You spend the night on board.

Another lovely day at leisure.

After breakfast you leave for Cu Chi and the tunnels of the same name, from where the Viet Cong fought the Americans. You will have the opportunity to crawl about a hundred meters through the tunnels yourself. In the afternoon you will visit Cho Lon (China Town) in Saigon with its Thien Hau Temple and the Jade Emperor Pagoda. If time permits, a visit to the war museum and Notre Dame are also possible.
After the buffet breakfast, you will board a traditional sampan for a visit to the Cai Be floating market. Hundreds of boats gather here to trade their fresh goods. Then, you will embark on a bike ride that takes you along narrow paths and past the numerous canals and waterways that enrich this area. You will have the opportunity to pick and taste the fruits that the Mekong Delta is so famous for. At the end of the day, you will become acquainted with Vietnamese cuisine and prepare dinner together with the Lodge's chefs, which you will, of course, enjoy yourself.
